Dis-patch presents: Ikonika & Cooly G

Ikonika is a UK-based electronic musician, producer and DJ often associated with Hyperdub Records and the Dubstep genre.

Ikonika’s music combines melodic synth patterns, driving drums, melancholic sub bass and unorthodox song structures. The Observer has described Ikonika as “a rare female face in the male-dominated world of dubstep, [who] melds the genre’s juddering bass with Aphex Twin-style melodic mischief-making.” Having been given her stage name for her music’s iconoclastic, boundary-smashing properties, Ikonika is swiftly becoming an icon in her own right.

Cooly G comes from Brixton. She is often associated with the growing UK funky movement.

The musical journey of Cooly G started at a very young age as a result of growing up around people who were passionate about performing. She brings a unique blend of old-school house music sounds, galloping funky patterns, super-deep subs and sultry vocal phrases, sung eerily as if emerging from within a dream.
