Romantic Jurgen came into being in 2007, bored to death by romanias “alternative/indie” scene and especially because of a total lack of any electro bands. The direction was quite clear from the start: an electro/wave/post industrial band. After several concerts throughout the country, Roadrunner Music (from Bucharest) suggested we make a record deal and record our first full length album. “Dead Bunny Invasion” was released in the spring of 2008.
Romantic Jurgen is hard to label: a harsh electro-pop with 1980’s industrial elements, mixed with caustic no-wave guitar sounds and powerful post punk female vocals with texts greatly inspired by the dada movement. Along with these the atmosphere is completed by an explosive live experience and visuals at every concert.
The event with Elektrana presents Romantic Jurgen in a new formula : more synths, drums and voice .. also with new songs . We are Sandra – voice, Daci – synths and Seba – drums

◇◇ DJ MIHU

Mihu is the resident at bunker club on friday’s alternative parties, aethernative pub on saturday’s and at some local bands shows the dj set. His music range is indie, brit pop, new wave and electro, and his favourite bands are: depeche mode, the cure, joy division, editors, kasabian and the smiths. He is known for his alternative nights here in Timisoara. He is happy to enterntain u! He’s dj set will be more electro indie for the Elektrana night in Timisoara.

The main agents of his socialization are Joy Division, Liaisons Dangereuses, David Sylvian, Suprematism and Minimal Wave. Behind the DJ pult, he is elegant and sophisticated. The dancefloor atmosphere during his DJ sets stands between the past and the avant-garde, dark disco sounds and synthetic thunder.
Mondays from 22h to 23h you can listen to his radio shows at Radio Elektrana.

They are the only scientifically oriented DJ duo in their town. Started having a radio show once a week on Elektrana Radio Mondays, ever since June 2009 and after one year integrated themselves into the somewhat moody club scene of Novi Sad. If you listen one of their shows or come to see them putting music on, first of all you’ll understand why it’s called WE SOLD OUR BODIES FOR SCIENCE.
